The study on algal polysaccharides with low viscosity is a research
item of Shandong province which was taken by Shandong Food &
Fermentation Res. & Des. Institute and completed in Dec. 2005
and identified on Dec.9,2005 by Shandong Science & Technological
Department.
The technology adopted mechanical shearing degradation to algal
polysacchcrides, on the basis of high molecular monomer construction
unchanged and without introducing other radicals on the main linkage
of the degradation products, the molecular weight of polysaccharide
decreased greatly in the solid state, the control of molecular
weight was made by controlling time and environment, then the
molecular weight grading done by membrane filtration. Compared
to the traditional acid-base degradation and enzymatic degradation,
it was a safe and reliable physical degradation method with large
treatment, best effect and without contamination.
At present, there are 140 hundred million of hypertensives, 325
hundred million of hyperlipemia and 52 million of diabetics in
our country. All of them need take medicines to control blood
pressure and decrease blood sugar, but medicines brings harmful
and side effects to health. The algal polysaccharides are free
from side effects and can be taken in daily food and cannot change
the flavor and appearance. It can be added in any food.
